Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Wellness Resort in Le Domaine Heritage Bel Ombre on the unspoiled south coast of Mauritius has now reopened after an extensive refurbishment, introducing a new spa concept and a focus on the natural beauty of the area. The five star resort’s appeal will be broadened to families and couples seeking a diverse experience, along and beyond the exceptional beaches.
Named after a famous Irish naturalist, Charles Telfair, who lived in the area in the 19th century, this elegant and refined hotel is a discrete luxury hideaway for a discerning clientele. A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, Heritage Le Telfair resembles a picturesque village with its 20 plantation style villas, each of them perfect replicas of the architecture of the time with white painted wood and intricate fretwork. The rooms are now plusher than ever with a soft, more feminine design exemplifying Heritage Le Telfair’s understated luxury and relaxed atmosphere.
The adjoining Heritage Nature Park extending over 1300 hectares of lush landscape with its many protected flora and fauna now offers guests staying at Heritage Le Telfair a more dynamic set of activities. There are nature trails with a tour guide, day and night excursions to see the island’s protected wildlife, and kids’ discovery tours - a perfect day out for the family.
After all the activities, spa lovers will be keen to check-in at the all new Seven Colours Spa Millesime Collection. The facilities, unique on the island, now include a large hydrotherapy pool, enhanced treatment and relaxation rooms, tailored spa experiences and signature treatments designed by the Mauritian spa brand for the hotel.
Guests can now enjoy larger suites with interconnecting rooms - a welcome addition for families. Additional high tech amenities include large plasma flat interactive screen TVs, iPod docking systems and high-speed internet access in all rooms. For younger children the Timomo Kids Club, is open from 8.30am to 11.00pm and is one of the very few kids club on the island that takes children from the age of two.
While the children are kept entertained, parents will be able to take advantage of the new 175 square metre heated outdoor swimming pool or perhaps enjoy a delicious meal for two at the revamped Gin’ja pan Asian restaurant on the beach front. Heritage Le Telfair has also refurbished two of its other dining outlets; the main restaurant Annabella’s with its traditional style open kitchen now has a new buffet offering and Le Palmier bar now extends service to the beach and pool side, serving light lunches, snacks and beverages. The interactive cuisine concept has now been extended across the whole of the resort.
Not to forget the jewel in the crown of Le Domaine Heritage Bel Ombre that has also been restored and redecorated. The Chateau has a unique and enchanting atmosphere inspired by the sugar plantation mansions of the 19th century, and serves guests the finest Mauritian cuisine prepared with local produce.
The Golf du Château golf course and clubhouse offer clientele a memorable golfing experience and a unique 18-hole championship course laid out over spectacular stretches along the foothills, and overlooking the Indian Ocean.
Launching this December is the adjacent new C Beach Club, which will include chill out zones, a swimming pool, two restaurants, one bar and its own stretch of beach. This will provide an ideal spot for adults, children and teenagers to enjoy the outdoors.
