Constance Lémuria is a mecca for curious travelers seeking luxury. And while one’s definition of luxury is subjective, most would agree that flawless service is the ultimate luxury. The personnel at Lémuria will remember you drink your coffee black, and will go the extra mile to please you, all while remaining unobtrusive.
Constance Lémuria, a part of the Constance Hotels & Resorts’ iconic collection of hotels, is on Praslin, an island off the coast of Mahe, “mainland” Seychelles. The stunning five-star hotel is set at the junction of two “anses,” two coves, Petite Anse Kerlan and Grand Anse Kerlan. The architecture blends natural materials - pink granite, wood, thatch, marble, stone - with a contemporary design. Tropical plants have sprung up in every corner - the shades of green are mesmerizing. A stay at the gorgeous Constance Lémuria involves sheer luxury but also a deep connection with Nature.
As with any great trip, things get even better when food is involved. Opt for Takamaka, a beach hut that serves sushi with a “seselwa” twist, or The Nest, a restaurant atop the rocks that overlooks Petite Anse Kerlan. At sunset, sip a drink at On the Rocks, a tiny patio nestled between gigantic pinkish-red rock formations that rise above the sea. The main restaurant, The Legend, sits at the summit of century old trees, while Diva, a gastronomic restaurant, is set on the impressive golf course.
(Included)
Golf: Play countless rounds of golf on what is possibly the most gorgeous course you have ever seen. Set on a hilly landscape, the challenging 18-hole course offers breathtaking views of tropical vegetation and the pristine beaches below. Early morning golfers will revel in the golden morning sun rays (there truly isn’t a better start to one’s day).
Anse Georgette: Ranked as one of the world’s gorgeous beaches, Anse Georgette is set in a hidden alcove, which may only be reached via the hotel. A Jeep-like cart will drop you off. Wallow in the pale blue waves, climb the gigantic granite rock formations or sunbathe on the beach.
Hawksbill and Green turtle hatch: The deserted, palm-laced Grand Anse Kerlan beach is a nesting ground for two species of sea turtles. An on-site Turtle Manager helps release newborns, which have just hatched on the beach. Guests are welcome to learn about these turtles and help them find their way to the sea.
Water-Sports: The sheltered bay at Petite Anse Kerlan is an ideal spot for some paddle-boarding or kayaking. Swim or snorkel to the pink speckled granite rock-island (which you may swim to or jump off of) or along the gigantic rocks, where there are small tide pools.
Trip to La Digue: Take the ferry and disembark at La Digue’s pocket-size port, where wooden pirogues in hues or reds and pinks and greens are anchored. The island and its village - echoes of a bygone era - have remained unaffected by a rampant tourism. Instead, La Digue has a laid-back island ambiance with its small pastel-colored huts, ox-driven carts (the local taxi) and copra (dried coconut kernels) exploitations. The coast is studded with “anses,” small coves where you can leave your bicycle and take a dip in the jade green sea.
(Optionnal)
U Spa by Constance: Our therapists’ bespoke treatments promote deep connection to oneself and a sense of harmony between body, mind and soul. Surrender to total relaxation at the luxurious U Spa.
Wine Tasting: Along with great food, comes great wine at the Constance Hotels. The sommeliers offer exclusive wine tasting events, a chance to stumble upon an exquisite bottle or two.
Gourmet Picnic: If you are in the mood to play Crusoe, consider ordering a gourmet picnic, set up by the hotel at Anse Georgette. The woven picnic basket itself is stunning, and the food, de-cadent.
Vallée de Mai: At the heart of Praslin’s tropical jungle is the Vallée de Mai, a dense forest that is home to the rare and sought-after coco fesse. There are several trails that wind through the valley, which are studded with the dark green palms.
